ShowTreeChildren Registry entry
Specify the number of levels to display by default below the current node in a hierarchy on the Hierarchy tab of the Taxonomy module.
In the Taxonomy module, only one level below the current node is displayed by default on the Hierarchy tab (the current node is highlighted in blue):
To expand the full tree below the current node may require hundreds or even thousands of queries for a broad tree (especially if the current node is of high rank). If the user wants to see the full tree below the current node, they can click the Expand button to the right of the Hierarchy list (or select Expand on the Hierarchy tab of the Ribbon).
It is possible to set the default number of child levels to display below the current node using the ShowTreeChildren Registry entry. In this example, the ShowTreeChildren Registry entry is set to four, and up to four levels will display by default:
